Plane, the 2023 action-packed thriller starring Gerard Butler, has become a streaming hit. It currently ranks #4 on Starz in the United States, with audiences praising its gripping storyline and intense action.

The film has a 79% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, but viewers have rated it even higher, awarding it an impressive 94% on the Popcornmeter.

Directed by Jean-François Richet and written by Charles Cumming and J.P. Davis, Plane follows pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) and convict Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter) as they fight to survive on a war-torn island.

After a daring emergency landing, the passengers are taken hostage by rebels, forcing Torrance to team up with Gaspare in a high-stakes rescue mission.

The cast includes Daniella Pineda, Yoson An, and Remi Adeleke, among others. Critics and audiences alike have praised the movie for its thrilling action and strong performances.

A Sequel to Plane Is in the Works

Following the success of Plane, a sequel titled Ship is now in development. This follow-up will focus on Mike Colter’s character, Louis Gaspare, as he escapes from Jolo Island and stows away on a cargo ship bound for South Africa. The ship, however, hides a dark secret — it’s part of a human trafficking operation.

Director Jean-François Richet will serve as an executive producer for Ship, while Gerard Butler’s involvement remains uncertain. Fans are hopeful for a cameo from the action star.

With Plane soaring on streaming and a sequel on the horizon, Gerard Butler’s action legacy continues to grow.
