In the sixth episode of Creature Commandos, DC fans got their first look at the new Batman. The episode, titled “Priyatel Skelet,” gave viewers a stormy glimpse of Gotham’s Dark Knight.
The episode starts with a shot of Gotham’s skyline and music reminiscent of Batman: The Animated Series, setting the stage for Batman’s presence throughout the episode.
The story focuses on Dr. Phosphorous, a character who starts as a scientist working with the mob. After a failed experiment to cure cancer, he becomes a walking nuclear skeleton.
But his plans are interrupted when Batman appears. The Dark Knightโs silhouette, framed by a flash of lightning, cuts through the scene, but his full appearance remains a mystery.
James Gunn, who oversees DC Studios, explained that the Batman seen in this episode was only a silhouette because he wasnโt ready to reveal the full suit design.
Gunn shared with Rotten Tomatoes that there was more Batman footage initially, but he chose to keep it vague for now. Fans will have to wait for a clearer look at the new suit.
Gunn also confirmed that the DCU’s Batman wonโt be getting a new origin story. โBatman already exists in this universe,โ he said. โHeโs already known by the people of Gotham.โ This means that Batmanโs role in the DCU will be established without retelling his origin.
The final episode of Creature Commandos season one will air on January 9 on HBO and HBO Max. The show has also been renewed for a second season.
