Drake has publicly backed Tory Lanez by sharing a petition calling for his release, following a brutal stabbing incident and claims of new evidence that could prove the rapper’s innocence.

The OVO rapper posted the petition on his Instagram Story with the caption: “@torylanez come home soon,” linking directly to the online petition which currently boasts over 230,000 signatures. This move was first spotted by Akademiks TV and has since stirred conversation across social media.

The show of support comes just days after Tory Lanez was stabbed 14 times in prison, a frightening attack that left fans and artists alike in shock. Reports say Lanez is recovering well, and his legal team now claims there is new evidence that could potentially exonerate him in connection with the 2020 Megan Thee Stallion shooting case.

Drake’s gesture reflects a notable shift in their previously lukewarm relationship. Lanez had also spoken positively about Drake’s recent defamation lawsuit against UMG, praising him during a Full Send podcast appearance for “standing up against the industry machine.”

“I’m not selling my soul, I’m not doing none of that weird sht, the rituals and all that sht y’all got going on,” Lanez said, applauding artists like Drake who resist industry pressure.

The show of solidarity between these two Canadian artists is drawing attention from both supporters and critics, especially in light of Lanez’s legal situation and health status.

Drake’s support now fuels renewed public interest in both Tory Lanez’s recovery and the potential for a legal breakthrough in his high-profile case.
