Tory Lanez, the rapper, was stabbed 14 times by another inmate at the California Correctional Institution. He was recently moved to a different prison and is now recovering well.
The man accused of stabbing Lanez is Santino Casio, who is serving a life sentence. Casio told TMZ he thought Tory Lanez had put a bounty on his head and wanted to kill him. Casio said he heard rumors about Lanez and got suspicious when he saw a lump in Lanez’s pocket. He then attacked the rapper but claims he did not try to kill him.
Casio said they used to get along as neighbors in prison, but he felt threatened by Lanez. He accepts that their choices led to this violent attack.
Casio also said he was hurt during the fight and had a stab wound in his leg. He suspects Lanez may have had a weapon, but prison officials did not find any.
Lanez’s legal team called the attack “savage and ferocious” and said he faces danger while in prison. They also said the attacker is not telling the truth and argued that Lanez should be released for his safety.
Besides this attack, Tory Lanez is dealing with his ongoing legal fight related to the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case. His team hopes to use new evidence to overturn his conviction, but so far, it has not helped.
