Why Timothée Chalamet Got Fined for Riding a Lime Bike

Timothée Chalamet made headlines earlier this week when he arrived at the London premiere of A Complete Unknown on a Lime bike.

While the move turned heads for its eco-friendly nature, it came with an unexpected consequence—a £65 fine (approximately $79) for improperly parking the bike.

The actor, who portrays Bob Dylan in the James Mangold-directed biopic, shared the incident during an appearance on the French talk show Quotidien.

Chalamet explained that his decision to use the Lime bike was prompted by a traffic jam, which made it impossible to arrive on time by car. Despite making it to the event, the fine left him with a humorous takeaway.

“It was horrible because it was actually kind of an advert for them [Lime],” Chalamet joked.

A Complete Unknown: Chalamet as Bob Dylan

The biopic A Complete Unknown chronicles Bob Dylan’s early days in 1961 New York City. It captures his journey as a young, unknown musician forging relationships with iconic figures and culminating in a performance that catapulted him to fame.

Chalamet’s portrayal of Dylan has already garnered critical acclaim, earning him a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the 2025 Golden Globes.

While the award went to Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, Chalamet remains a strong contender for this year’s Oscars, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg.

Though his unconventional arrival at the premiere sparked conversation, Chalamet’s performance in A Complete Unknown ensures the focus remains on his talent and the film’s impact.
