The Disney+ series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man introduces Amadeus Cho, a character well-known to comic book fans. But this version of Cho isn’t the Hulk—at least, not yet.
In the comics, Amadeus Cho is a Korean-American genius ranked as the seventh-smartest person in the world.
After losing his family, he befriends Bruce Banner and later becomes the Totally Awesome Hulk—a younger, more confident version of the Jade Giant.
In Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Amadeus Cho has no Hulk connections (yet). Instead, he is introduced as:
✅ A brilliant scientist at Norman Osborn’s lab
✅ A rival to Peter Parker in intelligence and attitude
✅ More arrogant and competitive than his comic book counterpart
Unlike the comics, where Amadeus is a fun-loving, kind-hearted genius, the show presents him as a tough competitor. He takes Peter’s dream robotics role at Oscorp and looks down on him for being late.
This new rivalry sets up an interesting dynamic—especially with hints of jealousy and privilege in Amadeus’ character.
Right now, Amadeus is focused on science, not smashing. But with Peter working in Oscorp’s energy sector, there’s a possibility of gamma radiation coming into play. If that happens, we might see this version of Amadeus transform into a Hulk-like figure.
For now, fans will have to wait and see how his character evolves in future episodes.
