The mighty Decepticon Trypticon is back in the latest Transformers toy line. This giant dinosaur robot, one of the biggest action figures in the franchise, is getting a new release in Transformers: Age of the Primes.
Fans got their first look at the updated figure through a sneak peek on the official Transformers Instagram account.
This new version of Trypticon is part of the “Generations Selects” line and features a more accurate color scheme compared to its predecessor.
The toy is based on the previous Transformers: Titans Returns Trypticon, which was inspired by the original Generation 1 figure. The new release is black, closely matching the colors seen in the classic Generation 1 cartoon, replacing the gray tone of the previous version.
Along with Trypticon, the set includes two additional toys: Full-Tilt, a small G1 partner, and Necro, a Titan Master based on the character Wipe-Out from the Marvel Transformers comics. Both Full-Tilt and Necro share the updated color scheme, but the new release does not include the stickers seen in earlier versions.
Trypticon is known for his massive size and ability to transform into multiple forms, including a robot dinosaur, a city base, and a spaceship.
The city form can even combine with other city bots from the Titans Return line to create a larger battle station. Fans can also expect a hidden “monster” mode, which features a head made from the tail of the dinosaur mode.
Though the new Trypticon won’t be available for a while, more details about its price and release date are expected in 2025, after the first wave of Transformers: Age of the Primes toys hits the market. Trypticon will face stiff competition, as the new Titan Class Star Optimus Prime will also be part of the same line.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new release!
