Tony Dalton is bringing back his role as Jack Duquesne, also known as The Swordsman, in Marvel’s upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+. The actor will appear in two episodes of the highly anticipated series, marking his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Dalton’s return isn’t a surprise to fans, as rumors had circulated about his involvement in the show. “Daredevil: Born Again” will feature several fan-favorite characters from Netflix’s earlier Marvel series, such as “Daredevil” and “The Punisher”.
Dalton first appeared as Jack Duquesne in the 2021 Disney+ series “Hawkeye”. His character, inspired by the comic book hero The Swordsman, had a complicated storyline. Duquesne, who was engaged to Kate Bishop’s (Hailee Steinfeld) mother Eleanor (Vera Farmiga), initially seemed to be a villain.
He was framed for his uncle’s murder and stole a sword that once belonged to the original Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). However, in the final episode of “Hawkeye,” it was revealed that Eleanor was the true villain, working alongside Wilson Fisk (The Kingpin), played by Vincent D’Onofrio.
Since then, fans haven’t seen Duquesne, but with D’Onofrio returning as Fisk for “Daredevil: Born Again”, it makes sense that Dalton would reprise his role as part of the show’s continuation of gritty street-level heroes.
“Daredevil: Born Again” is set to bring back many of the characters from Netflix’s “Daredevil”, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye. Additionally, Jon Bernthal will return as The Punisher, following his two seasons on Netflix.
Dalton, who is also known for his role as the dangerous Lalo Salamanca in “Better Call Saul”, is gaining recognition in Hollywood. He will next star in the action thriller “Trap House” alongside Dave Bautista and Bobby Cannavale.
With Dalton’s return as The Swordsman, “Daredevil: Born Again” promises even more exciting action and drama for Marvel fans.
