Timothée Chalamet credits rapper Lil B with giving him the boost he needed to kickstart his acting career.

In a recent interview with Nardwuar, Chalamet reflected on a memorable encounter with the BasedGod during his NYU days.

    The Iconic Moment

Chalamet revealed that he bribed a fellow student with $50 to get into Lil B’s event. Sitting front row, he raised his hand and was invited on stage, where Lil B knighted him and declared, “That boy’s hands been blessed.” Chalamet considers this moment pivotal, saying, “I was struggling before that… and I was nominated for an Oscar by the time I was 22. Nothing possible without Lil B.”

    A Rising Star

Before meeting Lil B, Chalamet’s acting credits included minor roles like Royal Pains.

Afterward, his career skyrocketed, culminating in his breakout role in Call Me by Your Name and subsequent critical acclaim.

“A Complete Unknown” and Bob Dylan

Chalamet also discussed his portrayal of Bob Dylan in the new film A Complete Unknown, which hit theaters on December 25.

The movie explores Dylan’s controversial shift to electric guitar and his enduring legacy.

    Chalamet’s Journey

From a struggling actor to an Oscar nominee, Timothée Chalamet’s story highlights unexpected influences in his journey. As he puts it, “Thank you, BasedGod.”

Fans can catch Chalamet’s latest performance alongside Elle Fanning, Edward Norton, and Monica Barbaro in A Complete Unknown.
