The Weeknd Stars in ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ Movie, Set for May 2025 Release”

The Weeknd’s suspense thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow, starring alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, will hit theaters on May 16, 2025.

Directed by Trey Edward Shults, known for Waves, the film is inspired by new music from The Weeknd and promises a “first of its kind theatrical experience.”

This film is the final piece in The Weeknd’s artistic trilogy, following 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM. Hurry Up Tomorrow aligns with his upcoming album and concert tour, both set to debut in January 2025.

The album, also titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, will be released on January 24, and The Weeknd will perform a one-night-only concert at the Rose Bowl the next day.

Produced by The Weeknd’s Manic Phase banner, along with Reza Fahim and the late Kevin Turen, Hurry Up Tomorrow also features executive producers such as Jenna Ortega and director Trey Edward Shults.

The film’s production team includes Chayse Irvin as the director of photography, costume designers Erin Benach and Hannah Jacobs, and Elliott Hostetter as production designer.

With chart-topping hits like “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears,” The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has sold over 75 million records and won four Grammys. He was the top male artist on Spotify in 2024.
