Take-Two Confirms Plans to Support Nintendo Switch 2, But Will GTA 6 Be Included?

The Nintendo Switch 2 is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated console releases in years. With Nintendo officially confirming its existence and a dedicated Direct planned for April, fans are eager to see what the next-generation hybrid system has to offer.

One major question on everyone’s mind: Will the Switch 2 be powerful enough to support the biggest third-party games? And more specifically, could it run a blockbuster like Grand Theft Auto 6?

Take-Two Confirms Support for Switch 2

Speaking during a recent earnings call, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick made it clear that the publisher intends to support the Nintendo Switch 2. While he didn’t confirm specific titles, his comments suggest that major Take-Two franchises could make their way to Nintendo’s next console.

“We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Nintendo,” Zelnick said. “We’ve supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release.”

Nintendo Is No Longer Just for Kids

Zelnick also addressed a common perception about Nintendo’s audience, stating that the idea of Nintendo being only for younger players is outdated.

“There was a time when Nintendo platforms were really geared at younger audiences, and that was reflected in our release schedule. But today, the Switch—and potentially the Switch 2—can support any audience.”

He pointed out that Civilization 7, a major strategy game, is already confirmed for the current Switch, signaling that Take-Two is open to bringing more complex and mature titles to the platform.

Could GTA 6 Land on Switch 2?

While Take-Two’s support for the Switch 2 is promising, GTA 6 remains a question mark. Zelnick did not confirm whether the highly anticipated title would come to Nintendo’s next-gen console, though he didn’t rule it out either.

For now, GTA 6 is still on track for a Fall 2025 release, though the CEO acknowledged that delays are always a possibility.

    What’s Next for Switch 2?

With rumors suggesting that every major third-party developer is considering bringing their biggest AAA titles to the Switch 2, Nintendo’s next console could have a much stronger lineup of third-party games compared to its predecessor.

Will GTA 6 be one of them? That remains to be seen, but Take-Two’s commitment to the platform is a promising sign for fans hoping to see more blockbuster titles on Nintendo hardware.
