The hit Netflix series Stranger Things will wrap up its story with Season 5, but that’s not the end of the franchise. Fans can expect more from the Stranger Things universe in several exciting ways.
Live-Action Spin-Off
Even after the main show concludes, a live-action Stranger Things spin-off is already in the works. The Duffer Brothers, creators of the series, have teased an original idea for the spin-off, which they describe as “very, very different” from the main show.
The spin-off will be produced under the Duffer Brothers’ Upside Down Pictures and is expected to surprise fans with its unique concept.
Animated Series
Additionally, Netflix confirmed an animated Stranger Things series is in development. The series, which is inspired by the classic Saturday morning cartoons the Duffers grew up watching, will have a two-season commitment. It promises a more episodic adventure format, with each episode telling a new story.
But that’s not all. An anime series will explore the adventures of two video-game-loving brothers in 1980s Tokyo, with an encounter with the Upside Down launching them on a thrilling journey. This could be the first Stranger Things spin-off to debut.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow – Stage Play
For fans looking for more Stranger Things content, The First Shadow, a stage play, has already opened in London’s West End and will debut on Broadway in April.
The play takes place in 1959, before the events of the show, and explores the origins of key characters, including Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers. It also delves into the backstory of Vecna, giving fans a deeper understanding of his character before the conclusion of Season 5.
Comics Expand the Universe
The Stranger Things universe continues to grow through comic books. Dark Horse Comics has released several graphic novels, including a prequel featuring Eddie Munson, and stories about Will Byers and the gang’s early days.
These comics are expected to continue, offering fans more tales from the Stranger Things world.
