Netflix Wednesday Season 2

Steve Buscemi is set to join the cast of Wednesday Season 2, playing Barry Dort, the new principal of Nevermore Academy. Although specifics about his character remain a mystery, Buscemi shared some exciting details about his role and his experience working on the series.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Buscemi revealed that he had the chance to reunite with director Tim Burton after over 20 years since their collaboration on Big Fish (2003). He expressed how much he admired Burton’s vision and work ethic.

Buscemi also spoke highly of Jenna Ortega, with whom he worked both on Wednesday and the upcoming film Klara and the Sun. He described filming Wednesday in Dublin, Ireland, as an enjoyable experience, despite the series not being set there.

Buscemi’s character, Barry Dort, will interact with the entire Addams family, suggesting that Season 2 may have a more prominent family dynamic compared to the limited roles of characters like Morticia and Gomez in the first season. This could indicate a shift in storytelling, adding depth to the Addams family while integrating Buscemi’s character into the central plot.

Given Buscemi’s ability to blend eccentric humor with darker themes, his role in Wednesday Season 2 promises to bring an exciting new layer to the gothic tone of the show. As production continues, fans can look forward to seeing how Barry Dort fits into the mystery and drama of Nevermore Academy.
