Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez recently exchanged heartfelt messages after both received Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress in Motion Pictures.
The two actresses, both former child stars, shared a moment of camaraderie after learning they were nominated alongside Felicity Jones, Margaret Qualley, Isabella Rossellini, and Zoe Saldaña.
At the Academy Women’s Luncheon, Grande expressed her admiration for Gomez, saying, “I respect her so much, and I’ve always adored her,” adding that she was thrilled to see them both on the Golden Globe list.
Grande was one of the first to text Gomez after the nominations were announced, sending a sweet message early in the morning. “It was the sweetest note,” Gomez shared, recalling the excitement of receiving voice messages from both Grande and her boyfriend, Benny Blanco.
The two actresses, who started their careers on TV—Gomez on Wizards of Waverly Place and Grande on Victorious—have found success in both acting and music.
Grande praised Gomez’s hard work and persistence, acknowledging the long journey it took to reach such a milestone.
Gomez, who also received a nomination for her work on Only Murders in the Building, spoke at the luncheon about her experience on Emilia Pérez, reflecting on the importance of community and collaboration.
She expressed how empowering it felt to be surrounded by supportive women in the industry.
The event, presented by Chanel, saw many other notable figures, including Pamela Anderson, Gal Gadot, Kristen Bell, and Amy Adams, in attendance.
