Peter Parker Era Shifts as New Spider-Man Series Arrives

2026 is officially marking the end of an era for Spider-Man in live action.

For years, every major English-language live-action Spider-Man movie has focused on Peter Parker. That trend is about to break before Spider-Man: Brand New Day even hits cinemas.

The first live-action Spider-Man release of 2026 will actually be Spider-Noir, a new Prime Video series starring Nicolas Cage. All eight episodes drop on May 27.

But here’s the twist — the show won’t focus on Peter Parker.

Instead, the series follows an older version of the hero named Ben Reilly. In Marvel Comics, Ben Reilly is a clone of Peter Parker. That makes Spider-Noir the first English-language live-action Spider-Man project not centered on Peter.

The only other time a live-action Spider-Man wasn’t Peter Parker was in Japan’s 1978 series from Toei, which followed Takuya Yamashiro. Until now, Peter has dominated every major Western adaptation.

Meanwhile, Tom Holland will return later in 2026 with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, tying him with Thor for the most solo MCU films.

Spider-Noir could also open the door for more non-Peter Spider-Men in live action. Fans have long wanted Miles Morales in the MCU. With Sony’s Spider-Verse films and Marvel’s future plans, that move could be closer than ever.

One thing is clear — 2026 is changing Spider-Man forever.
