Nicki Minaj Escalates SZA Feud, Brings Up Drake and Beyoncé

Rapper Nicki Minaj has escalated her public dispute with singer SZA, involving both Drake and Beyoncé in the controversy.

In a social media post on Thursday, Minaj claimed that Drake originally wanted her, not SZA, to feature on his hit song “Rich Baby Daddy”, released in 2023. According to Minaj, she declined the offer because she wanted to save a collaboration with Drake for a future project connected to her album Pink Friday 2.

“He wanted me and Sexyy Red on the song,” Minaj wrote. “I said I wanted to wait to do something special with Drake later. And now SZA is still out here dancing to it every day.”

Minaj also referenced Beyoncé, claiming that during the creation of their 2015 track “Feeling Myself,” neither she nor Beyoncé wanted to sing a particular lyric written by SZA. Minaj said the two stars had a phone conversation where they each tried to convince the other to sing the line, which she called “s–t lyrics.”

The comments came after SZA had previously mentioned in their exchange that she helped co-write part of “Feeling Myself” and shared a screenshot showing Minaj had asked her for a feature collaboration twice in the past.

The feud began earlier this week after Minaj criticized Terrence “Punch” Howard, SZA’s former manager. SZA responded indirectly on social media, writing, “Mercury retrograde… don’t take the bait lol silly goose,” which Minaj interpreted as a subtweet aimed at her.

Since then, Minaj has posted multiple messages attacking SZA, accusing her of lying, mocking her appearance, and calling her names. SZA, meanwhile, has responded only a few times, dismissing Minaj’s insults and claiming she was not interested in continuing the argument.

As of now, Drake, Beyoncé, and SZA have not officially commented on Minaj’s latest statements.
