Marvel fans were in for a pleasant surprise in the finale of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, as Samuel L. Jackson returned as Nick Fury in a brief but impactful cameo.
In the episode, Fury appears in a SHIELD helicopter and speaks directly to Moon Girl, offering motivational advice:
“You’re the one responsible for that, right? You inspired all these folks to do what you did not too long ago… You’re not just a hero, Moon Girl, you’re a maker of heroes, too. And if you ask me, that’s the real Moon Girl Magic.”
This moment pushes Lunella to accept SHIELD’s invitation for a secret mission—potentially involving the Avengers.
Fury wasn’t the only surprise appearance. The opening scene featured Avengers like Ant-Man, Hulk, and Captain Marvel, though with slightly different designs than their MCU counterparts.
Sam Wilson’s Captain America also made an appearance, though it was later revealed to be part of a daydream sequence.
While Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur was never officially part of the MCU, it included several connections and Easter eggs.
Unfortunately, with Disney canceling the show, Fury’s cameo feels like a final send-off for the series.
For fans who missed it, every episode of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is now streaming on Disney+.
