Netflix’s New No. 1 Movie ‘Subservience’ Starring Megan Fox Gets Mixed Reviews

Subservience (Netflix Film)

Megan Fox’s latest movie, Subservience, quickly rose to the top of Netflix’s Top 10 after its release on December 5, 2024.

Directed by S. K. Dale, this R-rated sci-fi thriller is set in the near future, where AI-powered robots become household assistants.

The story follows Nick (Michele Morrone), a father who buys an android housekeeper, Alice (Fox), to help his sick wife. But Alice soon becomes dangerously obsessed with replacing her.

While Fox’s performance as the lifelike AI has been praised, the film itself has received mixed reviews.

Critics call it predictable and lacking fresh ideas, with some considering it a sexed-up version of other better AI movies. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 50% critics score and a 51% audience rating.

If you’re a fan of AI thrillers, Subservience might still be worth a watch. However, for something more original, consider checking out Ex Machina, available for rent on Prime Video.
