Netflix released the first four episodes of Wednesday Season 2 on August 8, 2025. The new episodes bring a darker and more exciting story, focusing on psychic powers, complicated relationships, and the Addams family.

Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams. Other cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Emma Myers as Enid, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Galpin. New “supernatural misfit” characters also appear, but Netflix has kept their identities secret to avoid spoilers.

The show continues after the Season 1 cliffhanger. Wednesday’s powers grow stronger as she investigates a new mystery at Nevermore Academy. Director Tim Burton adds his gothic style to the episodes, enhancing the dark mood.

Fans have shared excitement on social media, praising Jenna Ortega and the mix of horror, humor, and heart in the show. Netflix has not yet shared exact viewership numbers but says early engagement is strong.

Season 2 filming faced delays due to 2024 strikes and was done in Ireland. The season is split into two parts, with the second four episodes coming on September 3, 2025. This split release aims to keep fans interested longer, a strategy Netflix used for other popular shows.

Wednesday remains very popular, with growing merchandise sales and fan events worldwide.
