Netflix has launched a new comedy series from acclaimed producer Mike Schur, the creative mind behind “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “The Good Place.” The new show, “A Man on the Inside,” has already claimed the #1 spot on Netflix.
The series stars Ted Danson as Charles, a retired professor who gets recruited to investigate a jewel thief in a retirement community. The cast includes Mary Elizabeth Ellis from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and Stephanie Beatriz from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” among others.
Critics are embracing the show, which currently holds a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, placing it alongside Schur’s other successful series.
At 76, Danson continues to deliver stellar comedic performances, leading a show that blends humor with heart, a trademark of Schur’s productions.
The series appears to be following in the footsteps of recent Netflix comedy success “Nobody Wants This” (starring Kristen Bell), which earned a second season after strong viewership.
While not officially announced as a limited series, the possibility of a second season for “A Man on the Inside” remains open.
Schur’s latest work maintains his reputation for creating engaging comedies with emotional depth, though it takes a more grounded approach compared to the high-concept philosophy of “The Good Place.” The show is now available for streaming on Netflix.
