NBC has only renewed two shows so far for the 2026–2027 season. Both are comedies — Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical. Everything else is still undecided, and time is running out as the network gets closer to its big May schedule reveal.
That leaves nine shows in danger. Most of them are dramas, including big franchises like Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D.. These shows are doing well in ratings, so they are likely safe for now.
The same goes for Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Both remain strong performers and continue to pull solid viewership numbers. That makes them strong candidates for renewal.
However, things look less certain for newer dramas like The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds. These shows are struggling in ratings, and delays in airing episodes are not helping their chances.
On the comedy side, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is performing well. But Stumble is not doing great and could be at risk of cancellation.
NBC is also working on new pilot shows. Some of these could take up slots in the schedule, which may lead to more cancellations. With so many decisions still pending, fans will have to wait a little longer to see which shows survive.
