The Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S are getting a significant upgrade in January 2025. At CES 2025, Nvidia announced its GeForce NOW game streaming service will become available on Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Pico VR headsets.
This feature enables users to play AAA console and PC games on a virtual big screen within their VR headsets.
How It Works
Instead of using a dedicated app, users can access GeForce NOW by navigating to play.geforcenow.com through the Quest browser. This functionality will roll out with the GeForce NOW 2.0.70 update in January 2025.
However, the experience is limited to playing on a virtual TV or projector screen, without additional VR-specific features. According to Nvidia product manager Andrew Fear, the service will support gamepad-compatible titles, offering a high-quality streaming experience.

GeForce NOW is widely regarded as one of the best game streaming services, offering low latency, high image quality, and excellent performance.
With over 2,000 supported games, users can stream titles they already own on platforms like Steam, Epic Games, and Gog.
The service has three subscription tiers:
- Free: 1-hour sessions with lower-mid-range PC performance.
- Performance ($9.99/month): Access to better hardware for higher resolution gaming.
- Ultimate ($19.99/month): Provides RTX 4080-equivalent graphics power, enabling ray tracing and ultra-high resolutions.
What’s Next for GeForce NOW?
In addition to VR headsets, Nvidia announced that GeForce NOW will be coming to the Steam Deck later in 2025, with a dedicated app planned for the handheld device.
With this expansion, Meta Quest 3 owners can experience a new level of gaming versatility, bridging the gap between traditional gaming and VR.
