Meet The Parents

A fourth Meet the Parents movie is in early development, and key stars from the franchise may return.

Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner are reportedly in talks to reprise their roles, with De Niro also serving as a producer.

Josh Hamburg, who co-wrote the original trilogy, is writing the screenplay for the new film. However, the director for the project has not been announced yet.

The original Meet the Parents (2000) followed Greg Focker (Stiller) as he visited his girlfriend Pam’s (Polo) family.

Her overprotective father, Jack Byrnes (De Niro), made the visit hilariously challenging. The movie became a huge success, grossing $330 million worldwide and earning positive reviews.

The franchise expanded with two sequels: Meet the Fockers (2004), which explored Greg’s side of the family, and Little Fockers (2010), focusing on Greg and Pam raising their children. Despite mixed reviews for the sequels, the trilogy collectively grossed $1.13 billion worldwide.

This revival is part of a larger trend in Hollywood that leans on nostalgia, with Ben Stiller also attached to the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project develops.
