Love Island Winner Jack Fincham Jailed After Dog Attack

Jack Fincham, winner of Love Island 2018, has been sentenced to six weeks in jail after his dog, a Cane Corso named Elvis, attacked a man.

The incident occurred in Kent in 2022, when runner Robert Sudell was bitten. Fincham was cautioned and ordered to attend a responsible dog ownership course.

However, in June 2023, another incident took place in Essex, where Elvis was again out of control, leading to Fincham’s arrest and charges.

At the time of the Kent attack, Fincham was already serving a suspended 12-week sentence for an unrelated driving offense. The judge ruled that his failure to control his dog meant the sentence should be activated, resulting in his imprisonment.

Along with jail time, Fincham must pay £3,680, including a £2,000 kenneling fee, £961 fine, and £200 compensation to the victim. He has been ordered to keep Elvis muzzled and on a lead, and the dog cannot be left alone with anyone under 16.

The case has reignited concerns over large dog breeds like the Cane Corso, which some experts warn could pose greater risks than the now-banned XL Bully.
