BLACKPINK’s LISA is set to make her acting debut in the highly anticipated third season of HBO’s acclaimed series The White Lotus.
The K-pop superstar expressed a mix of excitement and nerves, revealing she cried when she learned that creator Mike White had cast her.
“Oh my God, Mike White? I think he’s a genius,” LISA shared in an interview with Elle magazine. “I’m super excited and nervous because it’s my first acting project.”
Filming in Thailand
The season will be filmed in LISA’s home country of Thailand, with locations including Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui. She expressed joy at the opportunity to enjoy Thai food daily and have her mother nearby during filming.
Similarities to Music Videos
LISA believes her experience in music videos will help her in this new role. “It’s pretty new to me, but I think it’s similar to shooting music videos. I’m excited for my fans to see it,” she said.
Upcoming Single Release
In addition to her acting debut, LISA will release a new single titled “New Woman,” featuring Rosalía, on August 15th. With her acting and music endeavors, LISA is set to captivate audiences when The White Lotus Season 3 premieres in 2025.
