Lil Durk is facing more legal trouble as a new wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against him.
The family of Saviay’a Robinson, who was shot and killed during an attack on rapper Quando Rondo, is suing Lil Durk for allegedly ordering the hit. The lawsuit closely mirrors the criminal charges that Durk is currently facing in connection to the 2022 incident.
In a statement, the family’s attorney, Warren Postman, explained why they took legal action. “The premature loss of Mr. Robinson has devastated his family and community. We filed this lawsuit to hold those responsible accountable and to ensure his family receives the support they need during this difficult time,” he said.
The family is seeking financial compensation for their loss, holding Durk accountable for allegedly orchestrating the attack.
Ongoing Legal Battle
Lil Durk was arrested in October 2024 on charges of murder-for-hire, with prosecutors claiming he ordered the attack on Quando Rondo as retaliation for the 2020 killing of his friend, King Von. While Durk has pleaded not guilty, he remains behind bars after failing to secure bail.
In December, U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue ruled against his release, citing concerns that he posed a danger to the community. “The allegations are not that the defendant personally pulled the trigger. The allegations are that the defendant exercises a significant amount of control over others,” Donahue stated.
Authorities arrested Durk near Miami International Airport, and prosecutors argued that he is both a flight risk and a public safety concern. His legal team continues to fight for his release, but with the new lawsuit, his legal troubles are far from over.
