How the New Superman Movie Brings Back Relatability to the Hero

DC — Superman

Superman, with his near-limitless powers, has often struggled to feel relatable. James Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe Superman movie, starring David Corenswet, addresses this issue by portraying a younger, more vulnerable Clark Kent.

The teaser trailer sets the tone with Superman doubled over in pain, highlighting his struggles rather than his invincibility.

Unlike Henry Cavill’s seasoned hero, Corenswet’s Superman is still learning, bringing a sense of growth and stakes to the story.

The DCU also introduces other heroes and villains, such as Green Lanterns and Mister Terrific, ensuring Superman isn’t the only powerhouse. This creates room for Clark to grow into his role as the universe’s strongest hero.

Rumors of appearances by Supergirl or Justice League members add excitement, while darker characters like Midnighter and Apollo could offer intriguing contrasts.

By focusing on vulnerability and growth, the new Superman movie promises to redefine the Man of Steel for a new generation.
