GTA Online Mod Menu 2Take1 Shut Down by Take-Two Lawyers

The widely popular GTA Online mod menu 2Take1 has been shut down after a legal notice from Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games.

Launched in 2017, the mod had become a persistent issue for both Rockstar and PC players. Despite battling competitors, 2Take1 remained active until now.

The team behind 2Take1 confirmed the shutdown after receiving an email from Take-Two’s lawyers, warning of legal action if the mod and its website were not taken down immediately.

The legal team cited violations and issued a clear demand to stop distributing the mod, halt development, and remove all related content. Faced with the threat of a lawsuit, the developers decided to comply and shut down the project.

In their farewell statement, the 2Take1 team explained the situation, sharing that the BattlEye anti-cheat system had made it more challenging to keep the mod updated, though the menu had persisted for years as a passion project.

They expressed disappointment over the sudden end but confirmed no further updates would be made.

    More Mod Menus Under Threat

2Take1 isn’t the only mod facing legal pressure. Another popular mod, Stand, also received a similar warning from Take-Two’s legal team.

The developers of Stand responded, stating that their mod did not bypass BattlEye intentionally and that they intended to continue operating under the current terms without making changes.
