Netflix is bringing a new western series to the screen, Ransom Canyon, set to premiere on April 17.
Described as a blend of Virgin River and Yellowstone, the series follows the lives of three ranching families in Texas, mixing romance, loss, loyalty, and high-stakes drama.
The show, based on novels by Jodi Thomas, features Josh Duhamel as Staten Kirkland, the stoic owner of Double K Ranch, and Minka Kelly as Quinn O’Grady, a New York native returning to her roots in the Texas Hill Country.
As these families vie for control of the land, outside forces threaten their way of life, with Staten seeking vengeance and hoping to find solace in Quinn’s presence.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Lone Star State, Ransom Canyon promises beautiful vistas, heartfelt romance, and an escapist experience for fans of the genre.
The series is shaping up to compete with popular neo-Western dramas, including Yellowstone, which Netflix plans to stream alongside 1883 starting in mid-March.
