Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” has dominated the box office during its opening weekend. The film earned $118 million in the United States and $100 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $218 million.

Released on July 25, 2025, the movie marks the 37th consecutive Marvel Cinematic Universe film to open at number one in domestic theaters.

The film stars Pedro Pascal and tells the origin story of the famous superhero team. It focuses on family relationships and cosmic adventures while featuring a unique 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic design.

Audiences have praised the movie’s visual effects and faithful adaptation of the classic Marvel comics. Nearly half of all ticket sales came from premium formats like IMAX and 3D theaters.

    The Fantastic Four: First Steps

The strong opening makes “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” the fourth-largest domestic debut of 2025. Only three other major releases have performed better this year.

The film’s success helped Disney surpass $3 billion in global box office sales for 2025. This continues a multi-year streak for the entertainment company.

Marvel’s latest release shows that audiences remain interested in superhero movies, particularly those featuring well-known characters from the comic books.
