Ashley St. Clair is publicly calling out Elon Musk over his involvement in the life of their infant child. The 26-year-old author is currently suing Musk for sole custody, alleging that the Tesla CEO has only seen their 5-month-old son, R.S.C., three times since his birth in September 2024.
In a statement released on February 25, St. Clair’s representative emphasized that the custody battle is about the well-being of the child, not financial gain. “This is about protecting the best interests of Ashley and Elon’s child from a man who can’t be counted on to even communicate, much less act consistently in the role of a father,” the representative said.
St. Clair’s accusations come after Musk defended his fatherhood on X, following online criticism. Musk’s response was in reaction to a post by YouTuber Jerry Rig Everything, who accused him of abandoning the child and failing to provide child support. Musk quickly denied the accusations, claiming to have always paid generous child support.
According to St. Clair’s legal filing, Musk’s involvement with R.S.C. has been limited to brief visits in September and November 2024, which lasted just a few hours in total. She also provided text screenshots that allegedly show Musk acknowledging parenthood, yet his actions, according to St. Clair, have been inconsistent with his responsibilities as a father.
St. Clair claims their romantic relationship began in May 2023 and that she conceived R.S.C. in January 2024. Musk, who has fathered 13 children with multiple partners, has yet to comment on the details of the custody suit, which St. Clair’s legal team insists is a necessary step to protect the child’s future.
As the legal battle unfolds, St. Clair continues to seek sole custody and greater protection for her son, arguing that Musk’s behavior as a father is not in line with the responsibilities he needs to fulfill.
