Daniel Craig Honors James Bond Producers as Amazon Gains Control

Daniel Craig has shared his thoughts on the recent James Bond franchise shake-up. After playing the legendary spy in five films, Craig expressed his deep admiration for Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the long-time producers who are stepping back from the series.

“My respect, admiration, and love for Barbara and Michael remain constant and undiminished,” Craig said. “I wish Michael a long and well-deserved retirement, and I know that whatever Barbara does next will be spectacular. I hope I can be part of it.”

The statement comes after the announcement that Amazon MGM Studios will take creative control of the 007 franchise. Under a new agreement, Amazon MGM, Wilson, and Broccoli will co-own the James Bond rights, but Amazon will now lead future creative decisions.

Wilson, who has worked on Bond films for nearly 60 years, has announced his retirement to focus on art and charity. Broccoli, while stepping back from Bond, will continue working on other projects in the film industry.

Amazon, which bought MGM in 2021 for $8.5 billion, now has full control over Bond’s future direction. Since No Time to Die (2021), there has been much speculation about the next James Bond film and who will replace Craig, but no official announcements have been made.

Craig’s tribute highlights the end of an era for Bond, as fans wait to see what’s next for the world’s most famous spy.
