Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 have a reason to celebrate as the game’s world continues to expand with exciting new releases. This February, the game’s lore steps into a fresh chapter with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Psycho Squad, a four-part comic book series.
Set in the gritty streets of Night City, the story focuses on the notorious MaxTac force, a team known for its deadly approach to cyber-psychos.
Since its rocky launch in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way. With frequent updates, patches, and the well-received Phantom Liberty expansion, the game has earned its place as one of the best RPGs in modern gaming.
Now, the upcoming Psycho Squad series promises to dive deeper into the game’s universe, introducing fans to MaxTac and the dangerous missions they take on.
Cyberpunk 2077: Psycho Squad will be released on February 12, 2025. Written by Dan Watters, the series will feature artwork from Kieran McKeown, Giada Marchisio, and Frank Cvetkovic. The first volume will be available for $3.99, and pre-orders are now live on Dark Horse Comics’ official website.
The story follows MaxTac, a deadly group tasked with taking down a rogue corpo netrunner turned cyberpsycho. The mission to save lives turns chaotic when the psycho locks down the building, leaving the squad fighting for survival.
This comic series is not the first Cyberpunk 2077-inspired comic, but it marks the first time fans will get an in-depth look at MaxTac’s deadly operations. The success of Cyberpunk 2077’s previous updates and expansions has fans eagerly awaiting this new adventure.
Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red, the creators of Cyberpunk 2077, are reportedly hard at work on a sequel, Cyberpunk 2, along with The Witcher 4. Although it’s still early, the future looks promising for Cyberpunk fans eager for more content from the franchise.
