A contestant from Beast Games has shared his unique experience of competing in Mr. Beast’s ambitious $5 million game show, now streaming on Prime Video.
Known as Player 829, he revealed surprising details about the intense challenges, emotional rollercoasters, and long hours of waiting behind the scenes.
The show, hosted by YouTube star Mr. Beast (Jimmy Donaldson), pits 1,000 contestants against each other in a series of high-stakes games.
In the premiere episode, Mr. Beast offered a slice of $1 million to contestants willing to bow out early. Fifty-two players took the offer, each walking away with $19,230.
The Reality of Competing in Beast Games
Player 829 described the nerve-wracking experience of standing on towers equipped with trapdoors that opened to eject eliminated players into a foam pit. “I was terrified,” he admitted. “The trapdoors had a bit of give, and I was scared of a false drop.”
He also noted how physical challenges eliminated many top athletes early, leveling the playing field for others.
“Former NFL players, track stars, and runners were among the first to go,” he said, adding that this boosted his confidence in advancing further.
Endless Waiting and Emotional Toll
Behind the thrilling challenges, the contestant revealed the grueling reality of production. For every hour of filming, contestants spent up to 15 hours waiting around.
“Between every take, we’d sit for five or six hours. Filming often went from 2 to 5 a.m., leaving everyone exhausted and emotionally drained,” he shared.
The unpredictable alliances and betrayals added to the emotional strain. “It’s a never-ending rollercoaster of loyalty and backstabbing,” he explained, describing the mental toll of the competition.
