Pop singer Lana Del Rey and rapper Quavo have released their new collaboration “Tough,” sparking speculation about a potential romantic relationship.
The accompanying music video, directed by Wyatt Spain Winfrey, depicts the artists in intimate scenarios, including driving through the countryside and spending time together at a rural estate.
The pair’s chemistry has been a topic of fan discussion since they were seen together after Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party in February. They recently performed “Tough” live at Fenway Park, further fueling rumors with their on-stage rapport.
In the song, produced by Cirkut and Andrew Watt, Del Rey sings about resilience while Quavo pays tribute to his late Migos bandmate Takeoff. The chorus includes the lyrics, “Life’s gonna do what it does / Sure as the good Lord up above / I’m cut like a diamond shinin’ in the rough.”
Neither artist has officially commented on the nature of their relationship. “Tough” is expected to feature on Del Rey’s upcoming country-inspired album “Lasso,” set for release in September.
