Grammy-nominated music producer Tay Keith has been found dead at the age of 29, according to police in Nashville, Tennessee.
Officers from Metro Nashville Police said Brytavious Chambers, known professionally as Tay Keith, was discovered in his apartment on Thursday afternoon during a welfare check. Authorities stated that his death is currently unclassified and will remain so until autopsy results are completed.
Tay Keith was a prominent figure in hip-hop production and received Grammy nominations for major tracks, including “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott featuring Drake and others in 2019, and “Rich Flex” by Drake and 21 Savage in 2024.
He was also widely known for producing “Look Alive,” a hit collaboration between Drake and Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB, which references the city of Memphis in its lyrics.
Throughout his career, Tay Keith worked with several major artists, including Beyoncé, Sexyy Red, Pooh Shiesty, Moneybagg Yo, and G-Eazy, contributing to a range of successful releases.
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, he attended White Station High School and remained closely associated with the city’s music scene. Memphis Mayor Paul Young shared a tribute on social media, expressing condolences and remembering the producer.
Police have not released further details about the circumstances of his death. Investigations are ongoing.
