Acclaimed filmmaker Denis Villeneuve has officially been named the director of the next James Bond movie, marking a major shift in the iconic franchise’s future.
Amazon MGM Studios announced the news on June 25, 2025, confirming that Villeneuve will also serve as executive producer alongside Tanya Lapointe.
Best known for directing Dune and Blade Runner 2049, Villeneuve is known for his rich visuals and thoughtful storytelling.
