Amanda Seyfried recently opened up about an embarrassing wardrobe mishap that happened at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards. During a new interview, she revealed that her dress completely fell apart at the event, leaving her exposed in front of actor Glen Powell.
At the awards show, Seyfried wore a vintage Dior gown made from gold lamé chiffon. While stunning, the dress proved to be fragile. Even before the ceremony began, she mentioned in a red carpet interview that it was already breaking.
Things got worse when she went onstage to accept the award for Best Actress in a Movie/Miniseries for The Dropout. Seyfried was seen holding her dress together, and later in the night, she appeared onstage wearing a jacket—signaling that a full wardrobe failure had occurred.
Recalling the incident, she said, “My boobs fell out of my dress at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards. It started truly falling apart, literally falling off of me on the red carpet.”
The most awkward moment happened while she was chatting with Glen Powell near her table. “We were joking around about something, and I lifted my arms up, and my boobs were just out. My dress fell apart,” she explained.
Both actors screamed, but Powell reacted quickly. “Like the gentleman he is, he covered me,” Seyfried said. “He didn’t look…I think.”
To avoid further embarrassment, Seyfried borrowed someone’s jacket before going back onstage. “I ended up wearing someone else’s jacket on stage. Because, well, it would’ve just been my boobs,” she joked.
Despite the mishap, Seyfried handled it with humor, and Powell’s quick reaction helped turn an awkward moment into a funny story.
