YouTube Launches ‘Playables’ for Free Games Within Its Platform

YouTube is expanding beyond just video streaming by introducing a new “Playables” feature that allows users to play free games directly on the platform.

Over 75 casual games like Angry Birds Showdown, Cut the Rope, and Trivia Crack are available to play through the YouTube app and website. Users can find Playables under the Explore menu, jump into games quickly, and even track their high scores.

While currently in a limited testing phase, YouTube plans to roll out Playables more broadly in the coming months. The company sees it as an engaging, interactive way to enhance the YouTube experience alongside watching videos.

With its massive 2.5 billion monthly user base, YouTube is positioning Playables as a way to keep people on its entertainment platform for longer sessions of gaming and video consumption. Users can provide feedback to shape how the free gaming integration develops.

The addition of lightweight gaming aims to transform YouTube into an all-in-one digital playground for watching, playing, and sharing interactive content and experiences. It represents YouTube’s latest evolution in making its platform more immersive and engaging.
