YouTube - Voice Replies for Comments

YouTube is testing a new feature that lets creators reply to comments with voice messages. This feature aims to improve how creators interact with their viewers.

Currently, it is available only to a small group of creators in the United States.

How It Works

Creators can use this feature by clicking on a sound wave icon when they respond to comments. They can then record their voice and post it as a reply.

Viewers can listen to these voice replies just like any other comment. There is also an option for a transcript, which shows the text of the voice message.

Current Limitations

  • Availability: The feature is only for iOS users and only for creators who are part of the test group.
  • Comments: Creators can only reply with voice messages on their own videos.
  • Interaction: All viewers can listen to and engage with these voice replies.

YouTube hopes this new feature will help build stronger connections between creators and their audiences, similar to how TikTok allows video replies.

This change may lead to more personal interactions in the comment section.
