As the tech world eagerly anticipates Android 16, Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new version of its custom UI—HyperOS 3, which will be based on Android 16.
This follows the nearing end of HyperOS 2‘s rollout, hinting at an imminent update for Xiaomi’s users.
Google’s Preview Program for Android 16 started in November 2024.
Beta releases are expected to begin in January 2025, with platform stability by March 2025.
The official release date for Android 16 is speculated to be June 3, 2025.
Personalization Features: HyperOS 3 is expected to introduce Themed Icons, allowing app icons to adapt based on the system’s color scheme, creating a more cohesive visual experience.
New Xiaomi Devices: The update will likely be rolled out alongside new Xiaomi devices in 2025.
Samsung is also preparing for One UI 8 based on Android 16, with internal testing already underway. A One UI 8 beta could arrive by mid-2025, with a stable launch expected later that year.
Xiaomi, on the other hand, is focused on HyperOS 3, aiming to leverage Android 16’s new features, including improved AI functionalities and personalization.
Both companies are poised to deliver major updates, with Xiaomi looking to enhance its user interface and user experience through HyperOS 3.
