X Everything App to Launch This Year, Set to Compete with Apple Pay

X (Twitter)

Elon Musk’s vision for X, formerly Twitter, is expanding into mobile payments with the upcoming X Everything App.

Launching later this year, the app will challenge Apple Pay and other digital wallets, allowing users to manage their entire financial world.

Partnership with Visa

Visa is the app’s first financial partner, enabling instant funding to users’ X Wallets through Visa Direct. This collaboration will also support peer-to-peer payments and transfers to bank accounts.

Inspired by WeChat

Musk’s goal is to replicate China’s WeChat model in the west, offering not just messaging but payment solutions, bill payments, and more.

However, mobile payments to businesses are not yet part of the initial launch, which will focus on peer-to-peer transactions.

What’s Next?

As the app’s features evolve, it could redefine how users interact with their finances, making it a competitor to other services like Apple Pay. Expect more announcements throughout 2025.
