Vybz Kartel Calls Drake a ‘Better & Bigger Artist’ Than Kendrick Lamar

In a recent interview with Billboard, Vybz Kartel shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Kartel, known for his dancehall hits, made it clear that he is on Team Drake.

When asked about the rivalry, Kartel didn’t hold back, saying, “I’m not a fan of Kendrick,” adding that he doesn’t even listen to his music. “What does he rap?” Kartel asked, stating that while he’s heard of Kendrick, he doesn’t pay attention to his work.

Kartel then praised Drake, saying, “Drake is more in tune with Jamaica and the culture.” He went on to declare that Drake is a better and bigger artist.

This comment comes after Kartel’s return to the spotlight following his release from prison in July 2024. He performed at a massive concert in Kingston, Jamaica, on New Year’s Eve, drawing over 35,000 fans.

The Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud has been ongoing for years. It escalated in 2024 when Drake dissed Kendrick Lamar on tracks like “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Lamar responded with fiery tracks like “Not Like Us,” leading to a heated back-and-forth.

While Lamar prepares to headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, Drake is currently involved in a legal dispute with Universal Music Group over allegations of manipulating Lamar’s streams.

Meanwhile, Vybz Kartel is also in the running for a Grammy for his album Party With Me, which he recorded while in prison. The album has been nominated for Best Reggae Album and is set to compete for the award at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Stay tuned to see how this Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar debate continues to unfold, with Vybz Kartel firmly supporting Drizzy.
