Tyreek Hill Tears ACL, Out for Season After Brutal Knee Injury

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, during Monday night’s 27-21 victory over the New York Jets, the team confirmed. Hill is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday.

    Injury Details

The injury occurred in the third quarter after Hill caught a 10-yard pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. As he was tackled out of bounds, his left leg twisted awkwardly. Hill was placed in an air cast and carted off the field. Despite the pain, he managed to smile and wave to fans.

    Medical Updates

Coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Hill spent the night in hospital for tests. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said doctors performed an MRI and CT scan to assess ligament damage, cartilage, bone, and nerve health. While the dislocation was confirmed immediately, the scans revealed a torn ACL and additional ligament damage.

    Team Reaction

McDaniel praised Hill’s positive attitude, calling it “inspiring.” Even after the injury, Hill was seen joking with teammates Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane, urging them to finish strong. The Dolphins responded by scoring two straight touchdowns to secure the win.

    Impact on Dolphins’ Season

Hill, Miami’s top receiver, entered Monday with 198 yards this season and added 67 yards on six catches before being injured. His absence leaves a major gap in the Dolphins’ offense.

    • Jaylen Waddle will now serve as the primary receiver.
    • The team is expected to rely more on Malik Washington, tight end Darren Waller, and running back De’Von Achane.

“There is no replacing Hill,” Waller said, “but I feel like we got guys that can get the job done.”
