Tyler, The Creator made a surprise appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s highly anticipated Pop Out: Ken & Friends concert, performing two of his hit songs, “WusYaName” and “Earfquake.” What fans didn’t expect was that Tyler wasn’t even supposed to be there.
While in Atlanta working on his new album Chromakopia, Tyler made an impromptu decision to join the show. “I wasn’t even supposed to go — I was in Atlanta working on Chromakopia,” Tyler revealed during an interview with Billboard.
“But I landed that morning and couldn’t miss this sh—t,” he added, highlighting his close relationship with Kendrick and his team.
Though he usually doesn’t experience FOMO, the connection he shares with Kendrick Lamar and other members of Lamar’s circle made the performance impossible to skip.
Tyler’s unplanned appearance added an unexpected boost to the star-studded concert, which already featured performances by Dr. Dre, Mustard, YG, Roddy Ricch, Ty Dolla $ign, and more.
Tyler’s Chromakopia is set to be his third consecutive No. 1 album, following the success of Call Me If You Get Lost and IGOR.
