The hit show The White Lotus has returned for its third season, and this time, it’s set in Thailand. The season features Lisa, a member of the famous K-pop group Blackpink, and Tayme Thapthimthong, a Thai actor, in their first major Hollywood roles.
Lisa as Mook and Tayme as Gaitok play characters at a luxury resort, where Lisa’s character is a health mentor and Tayme’s character is a security guard. For both actors, this was a big step in their careers.
Lisa, whose real name is Lalisa Manoban, said she was nervous about acting for the first time. “Everybody was so nice and supportive,” she shared. Tayme, who had not watched the show before being cast, became a fan after watching the first season. “I fell in love with it. I was so impressed with the writing,” he said.
Their chemistry on screen was praised, and they shared that spending time together off-camera helped build their partnership. “She made such a nice effort to get me involved in lots of activities,” Tayme said.
Lisa described their storyline as sweet and a “break” from the other intense storylines in the show. “I think they’re going to love our storyline,” she said. Both actors hope fans will feel warm and happy after watching their scenes.
A New Experience for Lisa and Tayme: For Lisa, acting was a new experience, and she was nervous on set. “It was a whole new experience,” she said. Tayme, who had mostly played darker roles, had to adjust to playing a more gentle and loving character. He said it taught him that he could play a wide range of roles.
Both actors were excited about the show’s release. “I’m so excited for the audience to watch,” Lisa said. Tayme agreed, adding that the experience was bittersweet because they were sad it was over but happy it would be shared with fans soon.
Lisa and Tayme also hope that the beautiful setting of Thailand in the show will inspire viewers to visit. “Thailand is just so beautiful,” Tayme said. Lisa agreed, saying she misses the place.
