The Weeknd celebrated a major milestone on Tuesday night at Spotify’s Billions Club Live event in Santa Monica, California. The 34-year-old artist was honored for having the most tracks in Spotify history to reach one billion streams.

Performing for nearly 2,000 of his top fans, The Weeknd treated the crowd to hits like “Starboy,” “The Hills,” and “Blinding Lights.”

The exclusive event also featured a number of celebrity guests, including d4vd, Ava Max, and Jimmy Tetro.

During the performance, The Weeknd hinted at exciting news, teasing a “new album, new tour, [and] new movie.”

Last month, the Toronto-born artist made history by becoming the first to have 21 songs surpass one billion streams on Spotify.

His 2014 collaboration with Ariana Grande, “Love Me Harder,” was the latest to help him reach this record. His 2020 hit “Blinding Lights” continues to dominate as the most-streamed song on the platform, with over 4.5 billion plays.

The Weeknd’s upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, will be released on January 25, 2025, completing a trilogy that began with After Hours in 2020 and continued with Dawn FM in 2022.
