The Weeknd is keeping fans on their toes with his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The artist has been teasing the album for years, and now it’s less than a week away from release.
On January 26, 2025, he shared a cryptic post on social media to build excitement. The post featured two photos of him: one from his earlier career and one showing him wearing a hood that hides his face. The caption read, “It’s the way it has to be.”
This album has been in the works for a long time. After releasing Dawn FM in 2022, The Weeknd revealed that Hurry Up Tomorrow would be the final part of a trilogy. He hinted at this on social media, saying, “Did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?”
With the album’s release date of January 31, 2025, quickly approaching, The Weeknd has been sharing more teasers, including a trailer that highlights his career up until now.
The Weeknd has also hinted that Hurry Up Tomorrow could be his last album as “The Weeknd.” He said in an interview with W magazine in May 2023, “As the Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as the Weeknd. But I still want to kill the Weeknd. And I will. Eventually.”
Originally, The Weeknd planned to release the album on January 25, 2025, and hold a special performance at the Rose Bowl.
However, he canceled the event due to the wildfires in Los Angeles. Instead, he will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on January 30, 2025, the night before the album’s new release date.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the album’s arrival, and The Weeknd’s hints about his future music plans have left them wondering what’s next for the artist.
