Sarah J. Maas, the bestselling author of the A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series, has been named Spotify’s first-ever Global Top Author. The author shared this exciting news in a video posted to Instagram on December 9.
Maas expressed her joy, saying, “I am thrilled to be the top author for this year’s Spotify Wrapped.” In the video, she also shared her thoughts on what makes a great audiobook.
Maas believes it is important for the narrator to be a fan of the book. She praised Elizabeth Evans, the narrator of her books, saying, “I’ve seen fans embracing her. People have even recognized her on the street.”
Evans is currently re-recording all the ACOTAR audiobooks to celebrate the 10th anniversary of A Court of Thorns and Roses, which will be released this spring.
Maas also teased fans about her upcoming ACOTAR novel. She mentioned that it would be a long book but didn’t reveal details about the plot or characters. “It’s too early for me to tell you who it will be about, and what’s going to happen, but I hope to have more details for you soon,” Maas said.
In addition to the announcement, Maas’s books A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, and A Court of Thorns and Roses appeared on Spotify’s list of Top Audiobooks for 2024.
