Sony has officially announced new PlayStation hardware — and it’s something fans of fighting games will love.

During the State of Play event before Summer Game Fest, PlayStation revealed a short teaser for a brand-new device called Project Defiant. This is PlayStation’s first wireless arcade-style fight stick, made for both PlayStation 5 and PC.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, Project Defiant is a premium fight stick designed by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

It will support ultra-low latency wireless play using PlayStation Link technology and will also offer a wired connection option for competitive players.

    Key features include:

    • Ultra-low latency for smooth gameplay
    • Wireless and wired modes for flexibility
    • A strong, stylish design
    • A custom carry case to take your controller anywhere

Sony says Project Defiant is aimed at hardcore fighting game players, perfect for games like Street Fighter or Tekken. The controller will get its official name later, with a full launch planned for 2026.

Although details are still limited, fans are already excited. This marks a new step for PlayStation hardware, giving players more serious tools to compete and enjoy fighting games at the highest level.
